Nathan started plumbing in 2002 with a local company in the Wenatchee Valley, then joined local 32. He then moved to Seattle and continued his apprenticeship. He did most of his apprenticeship in Seattle doing many commercial jobs, including schools, hospitals, high rise buildings. He then moved back to the Wenatchee Valley in 2008 and married Amber and started a family in 2012.
Low water pressure usually comes from a few common causes. A partly closed shut-off valve, a clogged faucet aerator, mineral buildup in older pipes, or a hidden leak can all slow your flow. In older Wenatchee and Cashmere homes, hard water buildup is a frequent culprit. If the problem affects your whole house, it is worth having a plumber take a look.
Age is the biggest clue. The U.S. Department of Energy notes that storage water heaters last about 10 to 15 years. If yours is older and you notice rusty water, leaks at the base, popping sounds, or repeat repairs, replacement is often the smarter choice. A newer unit with a single issue may still be worth fixing.
A drain that keeps clogging usually means buildup deeper in the line, not just a surface clog. Grease, hair, soap, tree roots, or a sagging pipe can all be the cause. A snake clears the symptom, while hydro jetting cleans the full pipe wall and gets closer to the root of the problem.
Hard water is common across North Central Washington. Wenatchee city water tests at about 4.5 grains per gallon, and many area wells run harder. Common signs include spots on dishes, white scale on faucets, dry skin, and soap that will not lather well. A water softener or filtration system helps protect your pipes and appliances.
Watch for slow drains across the whole house, gurgling toilets, sewage smells, or soggy patches in the yard. Backups in more than one fixture often point to the main sewer line, not a single clog. A camera inspection shows the exact problem, and trenchless pipe lining can often fix it without digging up your yard.
First, stop the water. Shut off the valve near the fixture, or the main valve if water is spreading fast. Keep away from any outlets the water reaches. Then call a plumber for help. You can reach A&N Plumbing at (509) 888-1933 or request service online.
